Strategy with a kick: The heartbeat of Management Day.

If you weren't at this year's 29th Management Day of the Koue Bokkeveld Training Center, you really missed something special! The day was packed with insightful discussions and inspiring ideas. Our guest speakers shared powerful winning strategies with us - from how to get ahead with smart planning, to how to nurture healthy, productive employees and build teamwork that leaves everyone feeling "lekke". The feedback we received was outstanding - participants felt they walked away with renewed energy and practical guidelines for sustainable success. It was not only a learning opportunity, but a day that strengthened bonds and fueled inspiration. Next year you definitely won't want to miss out again!

The agricultural office is experiencing a very busy time preparing for the new agricultural learnerships that will start soon. With the financial assistance of AgriSETA and the producers, it is possible to offer two NQF 2 classes this year. The classes will take place in the Koue Bokkeveld and Prince Alfred Hamlet. 42 Learners have been registered from various farms in the area. This is the first time that we will be offering the NQF 2 Plant Production learnership. Many learners have previously completed the NQF 1 Plant Production learnership and can now enroll for the NQF 2 Plant Production learnership. The NQF 2 learnership is a production course that can further assist learners in their daily tasks. It is aimed at workers who can work independently and who require little supervision. This qualification is academically equivalent to Grade 10.
With the transition to vocational qualifications, it is a prerequisite that future learners that want to do the NQF 4 learnership must have successfully completed at least Grade 10. In this way, we aim to increase the pool of potential learners.

Our recent men’s camp was attended by 39 men, including 26 first-timers. It became clear that many still struggle with childhood trauma. The individual sessions offered much-needed support. A big thank you to all the farms that provided transport and sponsorship – you helped make a fresh start possible.

A group of 42 young Xhosa and Sotho speaking participants joined Joseph on an exciting outing to Cape Town. They hiked part of Lion’s Head and enjoyed lunch in Camps Bay. The outing offered not only adventure but also the chance to build unity and support within the diverse group.

With a mixture of appreciation and sadness, we announce that Ané du Toit has decided to embark on a new chapter in her career. Ané has been part of our team since November 2021 and has managed our administrative department. We wish her all the best in the future.

The Afrikaans Leaders' Day is being presented this year in collaboration with Food 4 Mzanzi.  This day full of exciting speakers and nice practical tools for work and personal, promises to be the right opportunity to end a busy harvest season.
